Control Core being linked-up with Faintear Imitate
The Control Core (コントロル コア Kontororu Koa) is a device developed by the Ver'mith to corrupt Faintear Imitate, erasing her true self along with any linkage to C.H.I.L.D.A. due to the copy of the original Faintear's personality, and becoming a mindless weapon working for the Ver'mith. This jewel shaped device is embedded on the copy's forehead, once it's destroyed (or Bypassed), the copy is free as she recovers her will and freedom.
The destruction of the Control Core changes depending on which game and mode is playing. In the XBLA version of Triggerheart Exelica is destroyed by Ver'mith Ennda in a failed attempt to kill her, only resulting in Imitate's liberation and Ennda's demise, while in the Story Mode of both Dreamcast and PS2 versions, is destroyed by the Triggerhearts, when Imitate merges with Ennda. Despite the scenario, the result is the same: Imitate is liberated and her personality changes because the control is gone.
